Grad School

Looks like I'll be starting Grad school in 2011. It's time to move forward and I'm very anxious to start. It's always been part of the plan before I go back to work and since Caden has 3 more years until he will be in school all day, I'll be able to take my time. I'm very excited but a little nervous since the first time around I didn't have children to take care of at the same time... I've decided to go through NAU's extended campus program and get my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I've been mulling it over for some time now and doing a a lot of research online and finally came to the conclusion that I can either turn 40 in 5 years with or without a Master's degree... although it had better not take me that long! I'm determined to be all caught up with the boys' scrapbooks by January. For some reason I really don't like to scrapbook (gasp!) but I like the finished outcome so I make myself do it... :)

Addiction

I think I've become addicted to Wii Fit. I do it pretty much 5+ days a week, which is a good thing. I'm a lot better at most of the games than I used to be, but some are still very hard...Anyway, it's fun to try and beat my scores. I love the cardio workouts too. Caden loves to do the yoga with me and often shows us his "tree" pose, which cracks me up. The only thing is that he's very bossy with what yoga poses he wants me to do...so we have to compromise often... yep, that's my 3 year old. :)

Good Things to Come...

This was posted on the blog of a friend of mine... She said it keeps her going every day. It couldn't have come at a better time for me...

Anniversary

Beautiful Anniversary Flowers!
~~~
Since Manti had a YM overnight campout tonight I ended up spending our anniversary at the movie theater by myself. I didn't mind too much after the beautiful flowers he gave me and it meant I got a chance to see Eclipse again. (4th time!) Cooper was so excited to go with his Daddy and I was excited to have Grandma babysit Caden for awhile so I could have a break :)
Painting, Painting, Painting...
Family Room
~~~
We've been painting like crazy lately. Finished the kitchen, family room, part of the den, and master bathroom. There is still a lot more to be done but I love the new colors. It feels like living in a different house!

Piano

I'm working on relaxation techniques for when life gets to be too much, which seems to be all the time these days... obviously I indulge in Twilight (haha) , and I play the piano (in whatever spare time I have). Playing for Sacrament Meeting and Primary don't exactly count as relaxation, all though Primary pianist was my all-time favorite calling in church. Having 3 different callings right now isn't too relaxing either... Anyway, playing Schubert is my new personal challenge. Although I'm still working on several solo pieces for Sacrament Meeting.
I need to start giving Cooper lessons but I told him we'll wait until he's 7 years old. (actually I dread it- but it's silly to pay someone else to do it when I can do it for free). I can just imagine how that will go... I've had several requests to give lessons, but until Caden is more under control I don't see how that would even be possible. Maybe when he's older... I'm hoping he will love taking lessons. He never leaves me alone when I try to play...

Twilight Saga

So I saw the movie, Eclipse, again today for the 2nd time and loved it as much as the first time. I still have to see it one more time in the theater to keep up with my record of seeing Twilight and New Moon 3 times each in the theater. I love going by myself to watch them the 2nd and 3rd times. Anyway, I've read all four books, including The Host, but I've read Twilight twice and Eclipse twice. It's been over a year though, so I need to go back and reread them, since so much is left out of the movies that is in the books. Cooper and my niece, Alexis, watched Twilight with me on DVD when I first got it. He hasn't seen the others, but he told someone "all she talks about is Twilight, which I swear isn't true... haha..
Oh, and since Manti served part of his mission in Forks, WA, I think it's only appropriate that we go there someday for a big family vacation. (Mom's choice)

The Bass Pro

So we spent the morning shopping at the Bass Pro Shop today. The kids love looking at the fish in the huge aquariums and bears and deer overlooking the waterfalls while their daddy can't take his eyes off the speed boats. I head straight for the ladies' clothing department (love their cute clothes!) So... everyone ends up happy. :) Not to mention that this is where we go and visit with Santa every year now... haha.
